garden glory

next garden club meeting: TUESDAY AUGUST 14TH @ 3:00 in the hooper courtyard
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

thank you to everyone who has signed up to be members of the garden club so far. just a reminder that the membership fee is $15.00 for the year. this money will be used to get us started with needed supplies and allow members access to garden plots and the stuff that grows from them. by becoming a member, you will help to create a foundation for this group, the cca community and the green that we hope to bring in, make grow, and sustain.
throughout the past month, we have had two group meetings as well as visits from blair randall from the gardens for the environment, as well as lisa van cleef from the conservatory of flowers. these have all been particularly beneficial meetings- as they offered educated and supportive suggestions on how to create and maintain a student initiated social space within an institutional setting.
maggie's dad, lou preston was kind enough to donate and bring to us a truck load of compost from their farm that we can mix with topsoil (once we get some)-THANK YOU! once we have that we can fill the raised bed in the corner and start planting!
next garden club meeting: TUESDAY AUGUST 14TH @ 3:00 in the hooper courtyard-
agenda:
*layout/budget of 6 mobile container gardens
*plans for the garden club kickoff party/fundraiser that will be taking place the second week of september.
*worm composting system
*bring research on plants/vegetables/herbs that we can start planting within the month
please note: you do not have to commit to becoming a member to attend these meetings-

First post!

Welcome! This blog is for the CCA Garden Club.
The mission of this club is to design and create green spaces for experimentation with plant material landscape and ecological cycles in individual mobile containers in the hooper courtyard on the CCA SF campus.
